Position Details 

The Saskatoon Tribal Council, in collaboration with Synergy 8, federal and provincial governments, and Dr. Parviz Yazdani, are starting the first mobile dental clinic project EVER in Canada. This historic project is expected to set the model for the future of dental and oral healthcare provision in certain parts of Canada. 

For this, a full-size tour bus has been converted into a Health Bus, comprising a full dental clinic and a mental health clinic. The bus itinerary rotation involves traveling to the 7 First Nations of the Saskatoon Tribal Council within the vicinity and providing services on the bus at each of the schools on the First Nation. The work-day is a standard 8-hour day, with 30 minutes for lunch. You will get paid for your travel time. All driving and maintenance of the bus and equipment are done by professionals. There is no "set up" and "take down" involved. 

Position: full-time permanent dental therapy position; 

Details: 8-hour work-days; no weekends and evenings. work 44 weeks (220 days), get paid for 52. Your schedule will follow that of the school schedules: you have days off corresponding to christmas, spring break, easter, and summer holidays. 

Salary: $96,000/year ($8000/month) plus performance bonus of up to $24,000 assessed at the end of each year ($54-68/hour pending performance).

Benefits: uniform allowance, CE, group RSP, extended health plan. 

Duties: You will have unlimited and on demand access to your consulting dentist who will be connected to you and your computer via the internet. You will have a full-time assistant and will provide screenings, check ups, radiographs, tooth charting, and extensive basic treatments to all patients. Your primary patient demographics are children and youth between the ages of 5 and 18, but you will also attend to adults as needed.  

About: You will be providing dental services out of a single fully equipped modern operatory. The operatory is located in the STC Health Bus, and has satellite internet access for digital and paperless dentistry. You will work a standard 8-hour day, rotating between the 7 First Nations of the Saskatoon Tribal Council, and you will end your day at 4:30 in Saskatoon. You will have ample personal paid time on the bus during your commutes.
