Description:
ROLE: Under the direction of the Dentist and the WCHC Health Director
- Ensure protocols and sterilization are maintained
- ART Placement
- Sealant Placement
- Flouride Placement
- Silver Diamine Flouride Placement
- Dental Treatments
- Fillings
- Extractions
- Pulp Treatment
- Stainless Steel Crowns
- Referrals
- Communication with consulting Dentist
- Continuing education as required by regulating body
- Maintain inventory list and submit orders for equipment and supplies the last week of each month to the dentist
- Acts as an OHS representative
- Maintain accurate and complete records as per HIPA
- Maintain patient confidentiality as per HIPA
- Acts as the privacy officer
- Maintain license and appropriate insurance coverage
- Maintain up to date CPR training and certification
- In charge of calibration, maintenance, and monitoring of dental equipment
- Act as the IPC Officer
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma in Dental Therapy and must have a license with Saskatchewan Dental Therapist Association.
- High level of critical and logical thinking analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, and email required.
- Experience working in a Cree community, knowledge of Cree culture and ability to communicate in Cree would be an asset.
- Ability to work independently and within a group.
- Class 5 Drivers License.
- Current Satisfactory Criminal Record Clearance & Vulnerable Sector Check.
