Your First Step Towards Professional Practice

Becoming a registered and licensed dental therapist in Saskatchewan involves a series of important steps to ensure that all practitioners meet the high standards set forth by the Saskatchewan Dental Therapists Association (SDTA). This page outlines the process for registration and licensing, including eligibility, documentation, and procedural requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Requirements: Applicants must have completed a dental therapy program recognized by the SDTA.

  • Details on accepted qualifications and any equivalency options for internationally trained professionals are available from the SDTA.

Application Process

New applicants to the SDTA must follow these steps:

  • Complete and submit the SDTA Licence From along with the required licence fee (annual fee), insurance premiums and any supporting documentation as requested on the form. If you are a new graduate OR you are applying as a new registrant to SDTA on or after July 1st, the licensing fee is prorated to 50% of the annual fee.  See licence form for details.  Annual licence renewal is required.

Once your registration and licensing forms have been submitted, fee payment made and reviewed and approved by the SDTA, you will receive a copy of your SDTA Registrant ID number, and your SDTA annual licence certificate in pdf format.
